Once in a while, we get feedback from LiteGait® users that reminds us why we do what we do. We're happy to share some of those stories with you here.

At our Select (Specialty Hospital) we have a high volume of Head Injury Patients. To work on the "standing to walking" transition can be precarious for the therapists and requires many hands. With the LiteGait, patients that we normally would hold off on trying to walk with due to safety issues, have actually been able to be mobilized. This has resulted in quicker facilitation of safe bed to wheelchair transfer (instead of a Barton or Caddy chair), Increased patient motivation and participation. We also have seen success with our patients that are respiratorily compromised. Being able to increase the amount of support the LiteGait gives, allows them to "walk" with a decreased burden to their system. As muscle strength, endurance and confidence increases, the amount of support the LiteGait delivers can be decreased.
Plain and simple without the LiteGait several of our patients would not be walking right now. At the stage we were able to initiate walking with the LiteGait, there would have not been enough manpower, or physical endurance (by staff or patient) to attempt traditional gait training. We would have put patient and staff at risk for injury. Yet with the LiteGait we were able to achieve functional gait patterning, increased patient awareness and engagement in a safe forum. Excellent for neuro re-ed, muscle strengthening, endurance building.

My 19-year-old son Sam suffered a massive stroke last March. He was paralyzed on his left side and walk with a very impaired gait. He began using the LiteGait only 2 weeks ago. TOday he was able to warm up on it and then run 1/4 mile outside unaided and with a good gait. We cannot wait to see what he will be able to do after a couple of months

Thank you so much for this wonderful equipment. I never could have imagined how much progress is made by its use. It really is a great equipment to help our patients.We’ve had CVA’s, Parkinson’s, Ortho patients even medical patients just so that we could work on the gait pattern and focus on the specific muscles to avoid compensation. My team feels very confident some more than others. But I do want to say that we help each other.

I look at myself and my intellect is clear, my internal organs are fine, i'm back to my original weight 175, i have muscle tone everywhere and no major atrophy, my core strenghth is improving and my two arms are working almost equally. Hello. I am writing to tell you how spectacularly your product has helped my son Jeffrey. Jeffrey has been rehabilatating from a severe hemmoraghe in the Pons of his brainstem. We heard of your product about two years ago. I had talked with another mom who raved about it and said it was way better than any walker she had used. I did some research and realized she was absolutely correct. It took me just about a year to get the State of Arizona to agree and fund it for my son. We have been working daily on it since we got it. Jeffrey has had two orthopedic surgeries and was able to recover very quickly due to the Lite-Gait. I have seen tremendous progress in balance and core strength and correct gait pattern all due to your Lite-Gait. I only wish I had this from day one. We ordered and received LiteGait back in 1997. My son was in a terrible car accident in 1995 and the doctors gave little to no hope of him ever walking again. He had a brain injury that affected his function on his left side, much like a stroke victim. They told us that he would be wheelchair bound for the rest of his life. Our son used LiteGait regularly in our home in those early years and we credit much of his recovery to using the LiteGait. We were lucky to have LiteGait in the home for him to use regularly and continued to use it over the years. Once he realized he was safe, he was able to work on regaining his balance & strength & coordination, and he progressed from there. He now walks using a cane or a walker, depending on what he is doing in his home. We have since donated our LiteGait to a local Childrens Center in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, and they were most grateful to receive it so that their patients can now get the benefits from LiteGait. The device is so durable, that after us using it for 10+ years, it was still in great condition.
