Lesley Smith, MSPT

Lesley Smith, MSPT, holds a BA in Business Studies from Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. She graduated with an MSPT from Boston University in 1998 and earned her doctorate in Physical Therapy from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professionals in 2008. Dr Smith has worked, first as a full-time employee and now in a per diem and consulting capacity, at the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Cape and Islands (RHCI), an acute rehab facility, on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, for over ten years. Her clinical expertise is with the adult neuro population but she also treats cardiopulmonary, orthopaedic and amputee patients on a regular basis. Dr Smith was instrumental in the procurement of a BWSTT device for RHCI several years ago and conducts regular inservices on its scientific rationale and clinical application. She also has experience in the outpatient, homecare and SNF settings and was a Teaching Assistant with Boston University's DPT program. Dr Smith is currently conducting educational training sessions on gait and balance on behalf of Mobility Research.
