Speed & Spasticity –
More Linked Than You Think
Nechama Karman, PT, MS, PCS
In this 90 minute webinar we will examine the interaction between spasticity, motor strategy and biomechanics as they apply to gait in children with cerebral palsy and other CNS dysfunctions. We will discuss how to have an impact on these via the manipulation of gait training parameters in the treatment of children. We will review use of BWS to accomplish specific targeted outcomes.
Objectives:
At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify aberrant movement strategies which impact limb stiffness during gait
- Select gait training parameters to influence stiffness in children with CNS dysfunctions
- Implement effective gait training programs targeting specific movement components
